Current Vacancies:
The company is currently in a phase of significant growth and development. As a result we are looking to appoint individuals to the following positions:
- Product Development Engineer - Reverse Engineering
- Graduate opportunities
|
Cti provides certified rapid prototype and pre-production high-integrity components to sectors such as aerospace, defence, medical and motor-sport.
Our facilities and materials expertise enable us to produce high performance products in the entire range of iron and steel, titanium and zirconium, magnesium and aluminium, and nickel and cobalt-based super-alloys.
To accommodate a marked growth in activity, an additional 50,000 sq ft of workshop space has been developed on the Advanced Manufacturing Park in South Yorkshire, and significant investment has been made in advanced design, rapid prototyping, ceramic shell and vacuum melting facilities.
New projects require us to build up the 55-strong team already working on the new site. We are seeking to recruit individuals to work at Cti, with an ability to work to a high degree of accuracy and repeatability, to aerospace manufacturing quality systems.
Product Development Engineer - Reverse Engineering
Working in the Reverse Engineering and Dimensional Inspection department, this position would suit a graduate of a Mechanical Engineering based degree, which included some element of CAD. The successful candidate would be given all the necessary training in Reverse Engineering techniques and dimensional inspection, progressing to 3D CAD modelling at the appropriate time.
As a Product Development Engineer, the main duties and responsibilities will be to collect dimensional data from existing cast components using tools such as 7-axis laser scanning devices, and hard probe Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM). This data will then be used to create engineering quality 3D CAD model geometries suitable for in-line manufacturing processes.
Other duties will include the dimensional inspection of a wide variety of patterns, models and cast components, creating nominal deviation colour plot reports and dimensional inspection reports, and keeping accurate records up-to-date to meet the requirements of our internal quality system.
The candidate:
- must be qualified to degree level in a relevant discipline such as Mechanical Engineering.
- must have some exposure or experience with one of the more common 3D CAD modelling software packages such as SolidWorks, ProEngineer or Catia V5
- ideally, but not essentially, should have some exposure or experience of reverse engineering software packages such as Geomagics or Polyworks
- must be able to interact positively within a fast moving environment.
- must have the ability to work both on their own initiative and as part of a team
- must be meticulous in their approach to work
- must have a sense of urgency.
- ust have some experience with one of the more common 3D CAD modelling software packages such as SolidWorks, ProEngineer or Catia V5
- must be qualified to degree level in a relevant discipline such as mechanical engineering, and with at least 2-3 years industrial experience
- ideally, but not essentially, should have some experience of creating CAD models from scanned and hard-probed data points using dedicated reverse engineering software packages such as Geomagics or Polyworks
- must be able to interact positively within a fast moving environment.
- must have the ability to work both on their own initiative and as part of a team
- must be meticulous in their approach to work
